ABOUT THE ARTIST

Born in Budapest in 1960, József Olexa is a fine artist specialising in traditional copper plate etching as well as watercolour painting and pastel drawings. He has been a member of the Hungarian Artists Association since 1991 and has won multiple awards for his work, including the 1996 Szentes Grand Prize in Painting and the 2009 Munkácsy Grand Prize.

 

With nature as a constant influence, his work is subtly beautiful, varied, dynamic and thought provoking.
